Sans la croyance, rien ne marcherait. C’est la faiblesse de la pensée rationaliste de s’imaginer que s’il n’y avait que la raison, tout marcherait, au contraire. On méprise la croyance, mais c’est par une vue incroyablement courte. La vérité a cependant tous les droits. Contre la croyance, contre l’incroyance, contre le doute. Toujours la culture s’est appuyée sur une représentation du réel et jamais autant sur la réalité même. Pratiquer une brèche. Casser un conformisme. Reprendre une liberté. Rouvrir un territoire. Mon livre n’a pas beaucoup d’autres buts.

Ce film raconte comment un homme simple et bon, à l’écoute de la terre, parvient à faire surgir une forêt dans une région retirée et désertique. Le récit constitue un hommage à la patience laborieuse de cet homme que rien n’arrête.
