Abbiamo ricevuto notizie che nelle ultime settimane nel carcere di Quarto d’Asti è stato introdotto il regime chiuso, una scelta che mira a punire e isolare ancora di più le persone rinchiuse.  La custodia chiusa riduce i tempi di apertura delle celle prevedendo solo 4 ore di passeggio (l’aria) e al massimo altre 4 ore durante la giornata all’interno della sezione. Questo significa che le persone trascorrono dalle 16 alle 20 ore al giorno chiuse in cella. In Belgien sind rd. 54 km² (5368 ha) Vennfläche in staatlichem Besitz als domaniale Naturschutzgebiete des Hohen Venns unter Naturschutz gestellt, nachdem es 2018 auf belgischem Staatsgebiet um 5 km² gewachsen ist. 2021 wurde seitens der belgischen Forstverwaltung (Forstämter Malmedy, Elsenborn und Eupen) vorgeschlagen, das Naturschutzgebiet Hohes Venn um weitere 840 ha auf 6211 ha zu vergrößern.
