In Schnellroda fand am Wochenende vom 23. bis 25. Januar die sogenannte „Winterakademie“ des ehemaligen Instituts für Staatspolitik (IfS) unter dem Motto der Selbstoptimierung statt. Am Sonntag fanden sich zu diesem Anlass zwischenzeitlich bis zu 100 Antifaschist*innen gegenüber dem Gasthaus „Zum Schäfchen“ ein, um gegen die Veranstaltung der Neuen Rechten zu demonstrieren. Als der Deich am Spreehafen brach, waren hier die meisten der 315 Flutopfer zu beklagen. Heute denken wir an alle Flutopfer und kämpfen dafür, dass der Wilde Wald weiter wachsen kann. In der immer stärker voranschreitenden Klimakatastrophe ist es unverantwortlich, weitere Naturflächen zu zerstören und zu versiegeln! So sah es nach der Großen Flut dort aus, wo heute der Wilde Wald wächst. Fundamente der Gartenlauben befinden sich noch heute unter den Brombeeren.
