In dem, nordöstlich von Warschau errichteten, Vernichtungslager der „Aktion Reinhardt“ ermordeten deutsche Täter 1942/43 etwa eine Million Juden*Jüdinnen. Seit Juli 1942 kamen nahezu täglich Deportationszüge mit tausenden Menschen in Treblinka an. Die Deutschen ermordeten die meisten direkt nach der Ankunft in Gaskammern, nur Einzelne wählten sie für Zwangsarbeiten im Lager aus. Am 2. August 1943 revoltierten die jüdischen Häftlinge gegen die Mörder.
