Την Κυριακή 15 Φλεβάρη, ήταν προγραμματισμένο το αποκριάτικο πάρτι των παιδιών του 36ου δημοτικού σχολείου στο μπασκετάκι του Λόφου Στρέφη. Ο σύλλογος γονέων, τις προηγούμενες μέρες, είχε στείλει αιτήματα σε Δήμο και ΓΑΔΑ για την απομάκρυνση των μπάτσων από το σημείο, την ώρα του πάρτι, περιγράφοντας τις δεκάδες φορές που τα παιδιά είχαν εκτεθεί στην αστυνομική βία. Δεν ανταποκρίθηκαν, ούτε απάντησαν.
